Louis Vuitton Nike Air Force 1 Sells For Over $350 Thousand

In 2022, 40 years since the Air Force 1 was introduced, a culmination of the rich history of the silhouette was realized with the introduction of the Louis Vuitton x Nike “Air Force 1” by Virgil Abloh. Released posthumously, Abloh’s work seamlessly connected the decades of prominence of Nike’s famed sneaker. In total, Virgil Abloh designed 47 bespoke pairs of the Nike “Air Force 1” for the Louis Vuitton Spring-Summer 2022 show in collaboration with Nike.

Made in collaboration with Rei Kawakubo’s pioneering fashion brand, the Comme des Garçons x Nike Air Force 1 Mid ‘Triple White’ treats the classic silhouette to a radical makeover, highlighted by cut-out paneling and unfinished raw edges throughout the white leather build. Embossed Comme des Garçons branding adorns the adjustable ankle strap, while an embroidered Nike Air logo graces the stitched heel tab. A matching white midsole maintains the monochrome aesthetic.

Launching as part of a special collection honoring the 75th anniversary of the NBA, the Nike Air Force 1 ‘07 LV8 ‘Lakers’ showcases the signature colors of the franchises’ early years in Minneapolis and Los Angeles. The low-top carries a white leather upper with contrasting powder blue accents on the eyestay and collar lining. The lateral side features a white Swoosh and purple quarter panel, while the opposite side pairs a purple Swoosh with a blue quarter panel.
